This is a remote internship opportunity.
The minimum time commitment for this position is 10 hours per week. The
internship will begin in mid-July and will end when intern availability ceases or the project wraps up.

INTERN: Social Media
POSITION SUMMARY
State Representative Ciccolo of the 15th Middlesex District is seeking college level,
volunteer interns interested in social media and communications, with a passion for
womxn’s rights. In light of the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment and the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, the Representative is celebrating womxn’s suffrage
by highlighting Lexington’s female leaders of yesterday and today. The modern aspect of
the ‘Womxn’s Suffrage Project’ focuses on highlighting Lexington’s current female
leaders. Specifically, this involves creating profiles of current leaders to be featured on
the website, scheduling and conducting in-person or virtual interviews (safety
permitting), and aiding in the creation of project promotion, advertising, and social
media presence.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct limited research on current female leaders, including but not limited to
their work in and out of our community and their career path
• Aid in selection of womxn to be interviewed (virtually or in-person, safety
permitting) and manage communications such as interview scheduling
• Conduct interviews of select womxn, record and transcribe information
• Compile profiles of womxn to be featured on the Womxn’s Suffrage website
• Help to design and foster a social media presence for the Womxn’s Suffrage
Project. This may include but is not limited to creation and facilitation of
Facebook and Instagram pages, drafting of newsletters or advertisements, and
creation of content for the website
• Aid in the general facilitation of the Womxn’s Suffrage Project on an as needed
basis

Research

female leaders of yesterday and today. The historical aspect of the ‘Womxn’s Suffrage
Project’ focuses on highlighting Lexington’s historical female political leaders.
Specifically, this involves conducting in-depth research of individual womxn, compiling
comprehensive profiles for the website, and aiding in the creation of accurate political
timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct in-depth research on individual political leaders, including but not
limited to their direct contributions to the Lexington community, legislation
they spearheaded, their stance on relevant political issues, and their lives in
general
• Conduct general research on historical female leaders in our community,
utilizing resources such as Town Documents, Newspapers etc.
• Compile said information into succinct profiles to be featured on the website
• Aid in the general facilitation of the Womxn’s Suffrage Project on an as needed
basis
